I’ve heard a lot about ISB, but I want to know — is it really worth the buzz?
How does it compare in outcomes and brand value to other top Indian B-schools?

ISB’s reputation is grounded in verifiable metrics rather than marketing, so “hype” is the wrong frame. FT Global MBA 2025 rank 27, LinkedIn MBA rank 5 globally, triple-crown accreditation (AMBA, EQUIS, AACSB), average PGP package ₹34.21 LPA for Class of 2024, and 247% salary increase over pre-MBA (rank 2 globally per FT). These are third-party-validated numbers, not brochure claims. Where the hype does exceed reality:

(1) international placements are limited (around 3–5% of the batch) despite the global ranking;

(2) one year is genuinely intense and not a lifestyle MBA;

(3) the brand premium in the Indian private sector is strong but doesn’t guarantee specific employers or roles. Where the reality matches the hype: curriculum rigour, faculty quality, alumni network activation, and career services for India-based roles. Worth it for the right profile with clear goals; overrated for vague “better career” aspirations. Honest assessment at https://www.goalisb.com/post/what-are-the-benefits-of-isb-mba.
